• Battlefield 3

  Battlefield 3 is a First-Person Shooter (FPS) that is designed to attack your senses, delivering a visceral combat experience like no other FPS before it. Sequel to 2005's Battlefield 2, Battlefield 3 utilizes the updated Frostbite 2 game engine, which allows for advanced destruction, sound, and graphics as well as a focus on dense in-game urban settings. • Dragon Age 2

  Dragon Age II is a single player role-playing game (RPG) for play on the Mac. Epic sequel to the BioWare developed 2009 Game of the Year, Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age II continues the adventure with a new hero, Hawke, and utilizes the choices made by the player to affect a story that spans ten years worth of time in-game. Additional game features include: the ability to choose your character's class and sex, a new cinematic in-game experience, a nonlinear narrative and the ability to import saved information from earlier Dragon Age games.

• Frontlines: Fuel of War

  Graphics were detailed and sound was good. Movements were reliable and easy, but I did get stuck once and had to "redeploy". You can't save your game and it doesn't overtly tell you when the game has been saved automatically, but objectives come in groups of three or four, and you usually need to accomplish them all before it saves your progress. You can respawn (referred to as "redeploy") a specific number of times before you have to start over on a group of objectives. The number of respawns varies according to the difficulty of the current objectives. While I usually hate not being able to save, I didn't find it to be a serious detractor from this game.

• New Super Mario Bros.

  There are a few decent games on the Wii, but you'd be lucky to find one that caresses your 'joy nodes' quite as much as New Super Mario Bros. Wii. This port of the original 2D title on the DS - all the running, jumping, collecting coins and avoiding Goomba's - is a stellar revisiting of our hero's glory days, and a fabulous retrospective to top-notch 2D platforming for those who grew up with a plumber in three dimensions.
